Week 7 Fantasy Football Winners and Losers: 2019 Edition

Quarterback
MVP: Aaron Rodgers (Packers)
Rodgers broke out of his "funk" by putting up a truly absurd statline (429 YDS and 5 TD's through the air, 6 YDS and 1 TD on the ground) against the Raiders that resembled a college QB beating up on subpar competition. The 35-year old seems to finally be clicking in Matt LaFluer's system after an uneventful start to the season and if you had been benching him on account of his mediocre statlines, it's probably a good time to put him back in your lineup.
Honorable Mentions: Matthew Stafford (Lions), Kirk Cousins (Vikings), Jacoby Brissett (Colts)

LVP: Kyler Murray (Cardinals)
A monster game from Chase Edmonds paired with the terrible conditions at MetLife Stadium prevented Murray (132 total YDS, 0 TD's, 0 turnovers) from building off his career-best game against the Bengals in Week 5. After securing 3 straight wins over questionable competition, the sledding is about to get much tougher for the rookie QB starting this week with a trip to New Orleans to face a Saints defense that has been tremendous since Drew Brees got injured.
Dishonorable Mentions: Matt Ryan (Falcons), Carson Wentz (Eagles), Jimmy Garoppolo (49ers)

Running Back
MVP: Latavius Murray (Saints)
Alvin Kamara's absence didn't slow down the Saints rushing attack in the slightest against the Bears on Sunday afternoon. Murray shined incredibly bright in his 1st game operating as the Saints feature back, piling up 150 scrimmage YDS (119 rushing, 31 receiving) and 2 TD's on 32 touches in another dominant win for the NFC's best team. Murray should be a quality starting RB1/2 option as long as Kamara is out.
Honorable Mentions: Dalvin Cook (Vikings), Sony Michel (Patriots), Ezekiel Elliott (Cowboys)

LVP: Phillip Lindsay (Broncos)
Turns out all the Chiefs needed to do to stop the run is play an offense led by Joe Flacco. A banner night of ineptitude from the league's highest-paid statue resulted in the Broncos going down big early and subsequently forced Lindsay (32 YDS on 12 touches) to get phased out of the gameplan in the 2nd half. The sophomore back isn't likely to fare much better in Week 8 against a Colts defense that has been stout against running game all season long.
Dishonorable Mentions: David Montgomery (Bears), Devin Singletary (Bills), Carlos Hyde (Texans)

Wide Receiver
MVP: Marvin Jones Jr. (Lions)
How many people had Jones topping all wideouts in scoring this week? The Lions #2 wideout was all over the place against the Vikings on Sunday, hauling in 10 catches for 93 YDS and 4 TD's. While a regression is basically inevitable after such a huge performance, Jones should be a damn fine WR3/FLEX play against the Giants.
Honorable Mentions: Marquez Valdes-Scantling (Packers), DeAndre Hopkins (Texans), Allen Robinson (Bears)

LVP: Kenny Golladay (Lions)
Jones' running mate, on the other hand, wasn't quite as impressive. Golladay somehow caught just 1 pass for 21 YDS in another painful division loss for Detroit. The Lions top wideout should be in line for an uptick in production against the Giants awful secondary this week.
Dishonorable Mentions: Larry Fitzgerald (Cardinals), Tyler Boyd (Bengals), Calvin Ridley (Falcons)

Tight End
MVP: Darren Waller (Raiders)
The rise of Waller continues!!! The Raiders tight end was one of the few bright spots in a lopsided loss to the might Packers, securing 7 catches for 126 YDS and 2 TD's. Waller has been the runaway breakout star at fantasy football's thinnest position and at this rate, it's entirely conceivable that he'll finish the year as the top scorer if he can stay healthy.
Honorable Mentions: Eric Ebron (Colts), Jimmy Graham (Packers), Gerald Everett (Rams)

LVP: Evan Engram (Giants)
Apparently it is possible for a tight end to not destroy the Cardinals. Engram was sluggish and sloppy as hell after missing the Week 6 contest with the Patriots, registering just 1 catch for 6 YDS. He'll look to return to form against a struggling Lions pass D in Week 8.
Dishonorable Mentions: George Kittle (49ers), Mark Andrews (Ravens), Zach Ertz (Eagles)

Defense/Special Teams
MVP: Patriots
I might as well just re-name the Defense/Special Teams section of this piece "The 2019 Patriots Award" at this point. Sam Darnold ran into this unforgivingly cruel behemoth of a unit last night, turning the ball over 6 times (4 INT's/2 FUM REC), allowing a safety and somehow getting sacked just once during a 33-0 home loss. With a middling Browns offense helmed by the current league-leader in INT's heading up to Foxboro this Sunday, another explosion seems imminent.
Honorable Mentions: Rams, Ravens, Jaguars

LVP: Vikings
The Vikings D were victims of a shootout this week as they surrendered 30 points versus the Lions. Things would've been even worse if they hadn't picked up a couple of sacks along the way and a late, game-sealing INT on a desperation heave from Matthew Stafford. A return to glory against the lumbering trainwreck otherwise known as the Redskins offense seems very likely.
Dishonorable Mentions: Chargers, Titans, Seahawks

Week 7 Fantasy Football Winners and Losers (2018 Edition)

Quarterback
MVP: Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs)
Mahomes mania continued on Sunday. The 2nd-year phenom lit up an overmatched Bengals defense for 403 total YDS (358 passing, 45 rushing) and 4 TD in a laugher of a primetime game. If he can sustain the absurd pace he's currently on (2,443 total YDS and 24 TD's through 7 games) for the rest of the season, he's a lock to be the fantasy and real life MVP.
Honorable Mentions: Mitch Trubisky (Bears), Cam Newton (Panthers), Andrew Luck (Colts)

LVP: Andy Dalton (Bengals)
On the other side of the field at Arrowhead, Dalton posted yet another dud in front of a national audience, registering a sad 148 YDS, 1 TD and 1 INT against the Chiefs abysmal defense. The Bengals longtime starter has a sensational opportunity to bounce back against an even worse Bucs D at home in the cozy, pressure-free 1:00 slot.
Dishonorable Mentions: Deshaun Watson (Texans), Blake Bortles (Jaguars), Jared Goff (Rams)

Running Back
MVP: Kareem Hunt (Chiefs)
Hunt had the honor of being the absurdly deep and lethal Chiefs offense's centerpiece this week. The sophomore back had an amazing day that included 141 scrimmage YDS (86 rushing, 55 receiving)  3 TD's (1 rushing, 2 receiving) and the most eye-popping hurdle I've seen all season long. While his yardage hasn't been consistent (he's failed to get 95 scrimmage YDS in 4 of 7 games), Hunt's regular visits to the endzone (9 TD's) and trio of 140+ YD explosions have made him a top-tier RB1 thus far.
Honorable Mentions: Marlon Mack (Colts), Todd Gurley (Rams), James White (Patriots)

LVP: Ezekiel Elliott (Cowboys)
Zeke's roller coaster 2018 season continued in Week 7. A greatly improved Redskins D had all the answers for Elliott, as he registered only 42 scrimmage YDS (33 rushing, 9 receiving) on 17 touches. Despite his occasional missteps, Elliott has been terrific for the bulk of the season and even with the acquisition of Amari Cooper, he should continue to thrive on this vertically-challenged team when they return to the field in Week 9 to face the Titans.
Dishonorable Mentions: Corey Clement (Eagles), Mark Ingram (Saints), Joe Mixon (Bengals)

Wide Receiver
MVP: Emmanuel Sanders (Broncos)
Sanders had himself quite the diverse offensive explosion this week, reeling in 6 catches for 102 YDS and a TD while adding a 28-YD TD pass on a trick play to rookie Cortland Sutton, in a comically lopsided victory over the Cardinals last Thursday. Sanders has been the receiver to own on the Broncos this year and his value will only go up if Demaryius Thomas gets dealt before next week's trade deadline.
Honorable Mentions: Odell Beckham Jr. (Giants), John Brown (Ravens), Adam Thielen (Vikings)

LVP: Allen Robinson (Bears)
Bears wide receivers were extremely quiet against the Patriots and the $42 million man was arguably the most silent. Chicago's top wideout only ended up with a single catch for 4 YDS on 5 targets in a bizzaro 38-31 loss at Solider Field on Sunday. Robinson has been average-to-above average for most of the year so far and will be a shaky WR3 against the Jets this week.
Dishonorable Mentions: Tyler Boyd (Bengals), Marvin Jones Jr. (Lions), Taylor Gabriel (Bears)

Tight End
MVP: Trey Burton (Bears)
While Robinson, Taylor Gabriel and Anthony Miller were all MIA, Burton was making plays all game long. The Patriots lumbering defense simply got torched by Mitch Trubisky's top intermediate passing option, as he reeled in 9 catches for 126 YDS and a TD. Trubisky's continued struggles in the deep passing game could allow Burton to become even more involved in the offense as the latter half of the season rapidly approaches.
Honorable Mentions: George Kittle (49ers), Zach Ertz (Eagles), David Njoku (Browns)

LVP: Kyle Rudolph (Vikings)
Rudolph put up a vintage statline, catching a single pass for just 16 YDS in a Week 7 win over the Jets. Even though he's pretty much completely dependent on TD's, Rudolph remains a locked-in starter at this headache-inducing position.
Dishonorable Mentions: Evan Engram (Giants), Cameron Brate (Buccaneers), Eric Ebron (Colts)

Defense/Special Teams
MVP: Broncos
Apparently all the Broncos defense needed to return to their elite form of 2-3 years ago was to face a dumpster fire of an offense that's helmed by a struggling rookie quarterback. Josh Rosen and co. surrendered 6 sacks, 5 takeaways and 2 TD's to a group that looked pretty lost before they rolled into the desert last Thursday. This total dominance is almost assured to be a flash in the pan and even if it isn't, they're guaranteed to get steamrolled by the Chiefs at Arrowhead this week.
Honorable Mentions: Rams, Colts, Patriots

LVP: Jaguars
While they admittedly were much better than they were in Week 6 against the Cowboys and got put in numerous bad spots courtesy of Blake "the Mad Fumbler" Bortles , the Jags D was still alarmingly quiet against the Texans. The formerly feared group only yielded 1 sack and 0 takeaways against a shaky Deshaun Watson-led offense that had turned the ball over 8 times in their 4 prior games. Todd Wash's crew will look to snap out of this miserable stretch when they take on the similarly underachieving Eagles in London this Sunday morning.
Dishonorable Mentions: Eagles, Ravens, Bears

Week 7 Fantasy Football Winners and Losers

Quarterback
MVP: Carson Wentz (Eagles)
If you weren't already on the Wentz Wagon, his performance versus the Redskins last night should be enough to convince you to hop aboard. Outside of an early INT, Wentz was a playmaking machine, posting 331 total yards (268 passing, 63 rushing) and 4 TD's against Washington's 8th-ranked defense. The 2nd-year QB has been an elite fantasy option this season and will look to continue his absurdly-productive October (1,063 YDS, 12 TD, 2 INT) against a weak 49ers secondary that just surrendered 260 total YDS and 4 TD's to Dak Prescott.
Honorable Mentions: Derek Carr (Raiders), Dak Prescott (Cowboys), Russell Wilson (Seahawks)

LVP: Marcus Mariota (Titans)
Marcus Mariota's underwhelming 2017 season continued with a stunningly pedestrian effort in Cleveland on Sunday. While he managed to avoid turning the ball over, Mariota only mustered 203 YDS through the air against a Browns secondary that was missing top corner Jason McCourty on an afternoon where the right leg of Ryan Succop carried the team to a depressing 12-9 overtime victory. The Titans franchise quarterback has delivered atrocious value (1,426 total YDS, 7 total TD, 4 INT in 6 games) for his 5th-6th round ADP thus far and has the distinct pleasure of facing the Ravens stingy secondary when the 4-3 Titans return from bye in Week 9.
Dishonorable Mentions: Cam Newton (Panthers), Andy Dalton (Bengals), Matt Ryan (Falcons)

Running Back
MVP: Ezekiel Elliott (Cowboys)
Ezekiel Elliott celebrated dodging his looming 6-game suspension for a 2nd time this season by lighting up the 49ers defense. The Cowboys rode their star running back's monster performance (219 total yards and 3 TD on 27 touches) to a lopsided 40-10 victory in front of the 12 people that decided to show up to Levi's Field on Sunday afternoon. He'll be a top-tier RB1 until the NFL's disciplinary hammer finally comes down on him.
Honorable Mentions: LeSean McCoy (Bills), Todd Gurley (Rams), Aaron Jones (Packers)

LVP: Adrian Peterson (Cardinals)
The "Adrian Peterson is back!!!!" party is over after 1 week. Everyone's favorite geriatric running back got bottled up by the Rams horrific run defense (21 YDS on 11 carries) in a demoralizing blowout loss for the AARP Cardinals. With Carson Palmer likely out for the year and starter David Johnson slated to return in about a month, Peterson will hold minimal fantasy value moving forward.
Dishonorable Mentions: Christian McCaffery (Panthers), Melvin Gordon (Chargers), Jerick McKinnon (Vikings)

Wide Receiver
MVP: Amari Cooper (Raiders)
After a 5-week slumber, Amari Cooper has finally emerged from hibernation. Derek Carr targeted Cooper early and often against the Chiefs below-average secondary last Thursday and it resulted in an eye-popping 11 REC/210 YD/2 TD performance for the embattled 3rd-year wideout. Cooper will look to remain heavily involved in the Raiders offensive gameplan against the Bills stingy secondary in Week 8.
Honorable Mentions: Tyreek Hill (Chiefs), Julio Jones (Falcons), Jarvis Landry (Dolphins)

LVP: Demaryius Thomas (Broncos)
A combination of tight coverage from the Chargers wildly underrated top corner Casey Hayward and Trevor Siemian's awful play forced Demaryius Thomas to put up a sad statline (2 REC, 9 YDS) for the 2nd time in the last 3 games. If Emmanuel Sanders remains sidelined for Week 8, Thomas will be a very risky play in a road matchup with the Chiefs.
Dishonorable Mentions: Jordy Nelson (Packers), Eric Decker (Titans), A.J. Green (Bengals)

Tight End
MVP: Jordan Reed (Redskins)
After a rough, injury-riddled start to his 2017 campaign, Jordan Reed finally looked like the player his fantasy owners expected him to be in Week 7. Reed was Kirk Cousins' favorite target on Monday night, reeling in 8 catches for 64 YDS and 2 TD's in a tight road loss against the Eagles. As long as he can stay healthy, Reed has an excellent opportunity to produce in this offense that has been hampered by poor receiver play all season long.
Honorable Mentions: Zach Ertz (Eagles), Evan Engram (Giants), Jason Witten (Cowboys)

LVP: Austin Hooper (Falcons)
The Falcons inability to devise an intelligent gameplan is getting comical at this point. After watching Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Cameron Brate tear up the Patriots over the past 2 weeks, Matt Ryan decided to only look Hooper's way once (he gained 6 yards on that lone target) in yet another sloppy, baffling and mentally-frail performance from the defending NFC Champions. Hooper will be a boom-or-bust TE1 once again when the rapidly-declining Falcons face the Jets in Week 8.
Dishonorable Mentions: George Kittle (49ers), Martellus Bennett (Packers), Delanie Walker (Titans)

Defense/Special Teams
MVP: Jacksonville Jaguars
SACKSONVILLE IS BACK BITCHES. The Jags dynamic pass rush made life hell for Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett, dropping him for 10 sacks in a dominant 29-0 victory for the co-AFC South leaders. This group has surpassed even the most optimistic of preseason forecasts and with a favorable schedule in the back-half of the season, they could end up finishing as the top overall fantasy defense.
Honorable Mentions: Los Angeles Rams, Carolina Panthers, Tennessee Titans

LVP: Kansas City Chiefs
A blocked field goal before halftime prevented the Chiefs from getting completely shutout on the fantasy statsheet in their 31-30 loss to the Raiders last Thursday night. Despite their inconsistent pass-rush and tendency to allow a lot of points, the Chiefs should be a good play in Week 8 when they face a Broncos offense that has surrendered 13 sacks and turned the ball over 6 times in the past 3 games.
Dishonorable Mentions: Arizona Cardinals, Denver Broncos, Baltimore Ravens

Week 7 Fantasy Football Winners and Losers

Quarterback
MVP: Andrew Luck (Colts)
After a so-so performance against the Texans in Week 6, Andrew Luck came back in a big way this week. Luck carved up the Titans solid secondary, picking up 353 YDS and 3 TD through the air and an additional 17 yards on the ground. Luck's gunslinger mentality makes him susceptible to crippling stinkers every once in a while, but he's still an elite QB1 option that should be started every week.
Honorable Mentions: Drew Brees (Saints), Tyrod Taylor (Bills), Aaron Rodgers (Packers)

LVP: Eli Manning (Giants)
Eli Manning's October cold streak followed him across the pond. While Manning played a clean, turnover-free game in London on Sunday, the Rams defense forced to him throw short passes all game, which resulted in pretty middling performance (196 YDS and 0 TD) for the Giants signal-caller. Manning's fortunes seems like they're bound to turn around soon as the Giants face the Bengals, Browns and Bears in 3 of their first 4 games following their Week 8 bye.
Dishonorable Mentions: Russell Wilson (Seahawks), Blake Bortles (Jaguars), Derek Carr (Raiders)

Running Back
MVP: Melvin Gordon (Chargers)
2016's most improbable fantasy success story just wrote his impressive chapter to date. Melvin Gordon was borderline unstoppable in Week 7 as he picked up 121 total yards (68 rushing, 53 receiving) and 3 TD's (2 rushing, 1 receiving) in the Chargers comeback OT win over the Falcons. Gordon has been a regular in the endzone in 2016 (10 TD in 7 games) and given the Chargers general lack of weapons on the offensive side of the ball, there's no reason to believe he won't continue to regularly find paydirt for the rest of the season.
Honorable Mentions: Jay Ajayi (Dolphins), LeGarrette Blount (Patriots), Matt Forte (Jets)

LVP: Terrance West (Ravens)
Marty Mornhinweg's puzzling offensive playcalling and a matchup against a stout Jets run KO'd Terrance West in Week 7. West managed 10 yards on a mere 8 carries in yet another ugly loss for the Ravens, who have now lost 4 straight since their 3-0 start. West is still the top dog in the Ravens crowded backfield committee and he should continue to be a mid-level RB2 as long as he remains the starter.
Dishonorable Mentions: Jordan Howard (Bears), Matt Jones (Redskins), Christine Michael (Seahawks)

Wide Receiver
MVP: A.J. Green (Bengals)
After 2 consecutive so-so to decent outings, A.J. Green delivered his 3rd "holy shit" performance (150+ yards) of the still relatively young 2016 season. Green brought in all 8 balls thrown his way for 169 yards and a TD-an absurd 1-handed leaping grab on a hail mary that will live in infamy for the rest time-against the Browns porous secondary. Green has another plus matchup in Week 8 against a potentially Josh Norman-less Redskins secondary.
Honorable Mentions: Mike Evans (Buccaneers), T.Y. Hilton (Colts), Randall Cobb (Packers)

LVP: Allen Robinson (Jaguars)
Allen Robinson nightmarish 2016 campaign hit a new low in Week 7. Despite facing a Raiders secondary that has gotten repeatedly torched this season, Robinson managed to have just 2 receptions for 9 yards on 8 targets (tied with Marqise Lee for most on the team). The struggles of Blake Bortles paired with his sudden inability to get separation from opposing defensive backs on a regular basis has led to a serious regression from the 3rd-year receiver in 2016. This strong candidate for fantasy bust of the year is currently a risky WR3 play at best.
Dishonorable Mentions: Amari Cooper (Raiders), Jordy Nelson (Packers), Alshon Jeffrey (Bears)

Tight End
MVP: Rob Gronkowski (Patriots)
In a shocking turn of events, Rob Gronkowski tore shit up in Week 7. The Steelers admittedly did a decent job covering Gronk for most of the game, but unfortunately for them, they still allowed him to pick up 93 YDS and a TD on just 4 receptions. Gronkowski is back in kill mode and the only thing the rest of the NFL can do now is pray.
Honorable Mentions: Delanie Walker (Titans), Jack Doyle (Colts), Julius Thomas (Jaguars)

LVP: Martellus Bennett (Patriots)
On a day where one half of the Patriots dynamic tight end duo was unstoppable, the other one was basically invisible. Martellus Bennett picked up 1 catch for 5 yards on just 2 targets as the Patriots focused on a more of a run-first attack against the Steelers. Bennett's downfield ability and redzone targets make him one of the most intriguing TE's in the league, but his owners should be wary of using him as a weekly starter because of Tom Brady's love for spreading the ball around to different receivers each week.
Dishonorable Mentions: Hunter Henry (Chargers), Travis Kelce (Chiefs), Dennis Pitta (Ravens)

Defense
MVP: Philadelphia Eagles
A week after earning the top defensive spot through a pair of touchdowns, the Eagles picked up the honor in a more traditional fashion this week. The Eagles terrorized a Vikings offense that hadn't turned the ball all over coming into this game, picking up 6 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries, an interception and a kick return TD while only allowing 10 points. The Eagles defense aren't a strong contender to go for the MVP 3peat in Week 8 as they face the turnover/sack-averse Cowboys offense, but should be still played regardless.
Honorable Mentions: Seattle Seahawks, Baltimore Ravens, Green Bay Packers

LVP: Buffalo Bills
The Bills recent hot streak came to a crashing halt on Sunday. The Bills got 1 sack, failed to get a takeaway and surrendered 28 points in a surprising loss against the Dolphins, who are suddenly showing life after an ugly 1-4 start. The Bills have a rough matchup against the Tom Brady-led Patriots in Week 8, so I would advise their owners to go to stream a replacement option such as the Jets, Chargers or Raiders this week.
Dishonorable Mentions: Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers

2014 Week 7 Fantasy Football Winners and Losers

Quarterback
MVP: Russell Wilson (Seahawks)
About the only thing that went right for the Seahawks' performance on Sunday against the Rams was the play of Russell Wilson. Wilson once again dominated through the air and ground as became the first quarterback to ever throw for 300 yards and rush for 100 in the same game. The Seahawks are not playing nearly as well as they were a year ago, but Wilson is a much better fantasy option in 2014 than he was last year. Wilson has another promising matchup against the erratic Panthers defense on the docket in Week 8.
Honorable Mentions: Peyton Manning (Broncos), Aaron Rodgers (Packers), Ryan Tannehill (Dolphins)

LVP: Jay Cutler (Bears)
Oh the plight of Jay Cutler.... A week after destroying the Falcons, Cutler had his worst outing of the season at home against a middling Dolphins team in Week 7. Cutler threw for a measly 190 yards and a touchdown while picking up 2 turnovers in one of the most miserable outings the Bears offense has had in years. Cutler will forever be the most unpredictable and inconsistent quarterback in the league. You're taking a risk every time you start him and that risk is even higher than usual this week as the Bears travel to Gillette Stadium to take on the red-hot Patriots.
Dishonorable Mentions: Matt Ryan (Falcons), Phillip Rivers (Chargers), Colin Kaepernick (49ers)

Running Back
MVP: Shane Vereen (Patriots)
With Steven Ridley out for the season, Shane Vereen now has a stranglehold on the running back position in New England. Vereen showcased his dominance over the backfield with a stellar performance against the Jets on Thursday. In typical Vereen fashion, he did most of his damage in the receiving game picking up 5 receptions for 71 yards and 2 TD's. It should be noted that 49 of his 71 yards came on a deep strike on the first drive of the game, so the numbers are certainly a bit deceiving. That being said, Vereen is easily the most gifted running back the Patriots currently have their disposal, so expect him to operate as a high-end RB2 (especially in PPR leagues) with a couple of stinkers moving forward.
Honorable Mentions: Matt Forte (Bears), Ronnie Hillman (Broncos), Le'Veon Bell (Steelers)

LVP: Giovani Bernard (Bengals)
It was rough day to be a member of the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday as the team got shut out by the Colts. Despite it being a rough day for the entire offense, no one suffered more than Giovani Bernard. The second-year dual-threat back got held to 16 total yards (17 rushing, -1 receiving) on 9 touches. Bernard should get ample touches this week, but unfortunately it's against a stiff Ravens front that hasn't allowed a rushing touchdown since Week 2.
Dishonorable Mentions: Ben Tate (Browns),Marshawn Lynch (Seahawks), Reggie Bush (Lions)

Wide Receiver
MVP: Demaryius Thomas (Broncos)
Demaryius Thomas became part of history this week as he caught the touchdown that put Peyton Manning ahead of Brett Favre for the all-time passing touchdown record. In addition to catching the record-setting TD, Thomas massacred the 49ers secondary all game long. Thomas finished the evening with 171 yards and 2 TD's on 8 receptions. Thomas has been on fire since the Broncos returned from their Week 4 bye and I don't believe that will change this week when he faces a banged-up Chargers secondary on Thursday night.
Honorable Mentions: Sammy Watkins (Bills), Golden Tate (Lions), Randall Cobb (Packers)

LVP: Alshon Jeffrey (Bears)
Odds are if you were a member of the Chicago Bears not named Matt Forte, you had a terrible game against the Dolphins on Sunday. Alshon Jeffrey was the biggest victim of their poor offensive performance, finishing with just 9 yards on the day. While I don't expect Jeffrey to repeat his 9-yard performance, he certainly has his hands full as he is going up against a tough Patriots secondary in Week 8.
Dishonorable Mentions: Brandon Marshall (Bears), Julio Jones (Falcons), Julian Edelman (Patriots)

Tight End
MVP: Antonio Gates (Chargers)
In an incredibly poor week for tight ends on the whole, the ageless wonder Antonio Gates was one of the few exceptions. Gates made the most of his 3 catches-picking up 61 yards and a touchdown in an otherwise quiet day for the Chargers offense against the Chiefs on Sunday afternoon. Gates remains one of the very few TE's you can rely on to put up solid numbers every week.
Honorable Mentions: Charles Clay (Dolphins), Owen Daniels (Ravens), Dwayne Allen (Colts)

LVP: Jordan Cameron (Browns)
A week after showing signs of life, Jordan Cameron reverted back to sucking it up against the Jaguars in Week 7. Cameron was held to just a single catch for 5 yards against a Jaguars defense that has been practically giving away fantasy points to TE's this season. Cameron is a low-end TE1 who will deliver a stellar performance from time-to-time, but can't be trusted in the slightest as a full-time starter.
Dishonorable Mentions: Julius Thomas (Broncos), Larry Donnell (Giants), Delanie Walker (Titans)

Defense
MVP: Indianapolis Colts
The Colts defense have quietly become one of the more reliable fantasy defenses to own in 2014. The Colts further their solidified their stock on Sunday as they shut out the Bengals. Their numbers could've been higher as they only got 4 sacks and failed to get a takeaway, but in a week where most defenses only put up average fantasy numbers, that was more than enough to make the best overall fantasy play.
Honorable Mentions: Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, St. Louis Rams

LVP: Seattle Seahawks
This is just getting ridiculous. The Seahawks defense has been one of the biggest fantasy disappointments of 2014 so far and that disappointment only grew stronger this week as they failed miserably against the lowly St. Louis Rams. The Rams had been allowing the most fantasy points to defenses coming into Week 7, but the Seahawks failed to capitalize on that juicy matchup as allowed 28 points and once again, got zero sacks and takeaways. I can't believe I'm saying this but if you can afford to drop the Seahawks D in your league right now, do it right away. Their lack of pass rush and inability to cause turnovers makes them pretty much useless in fantasy at the moment.
Dishonorable Mentions: New England Patriots, San Diego Chargers, Carolina Panthers
