2014 Mid-Year Report: Music

The first six months of 2014 have been a very interesting period for music to say the least. Of course, there's been your typical surprises (Body Count, ScHoolboy Q)  disappointments (Death Grips, The Black Keys) and triumphant comebacks (Behemoth, Son of Aurelius), but this year has been extremely top-heavy with only a handful of records being really noteworthy. With releases from heavy-hitters like Fallujah, Unearth, Revocation, Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, Frank Ocean, Big K.R.I.T., Action Bronson and Kanye West tentatively scheduled for release in the next six months, the second half of the year could potentially turn the tide substantially for 2014 music. Below are my rankings for all of the EP's and LP's I've heard so far in 2014 ranked from worst to best complete with star ratings and my favorite track from each.
