Quarterback
MVP: Jameis Winston (Buccaneers)
While the notoriously erratic signalcaller was due for an explosion after a so-so start to 2019, I don't think too many people expected a contest against the defending NFC champs to be the game where Winston finally went off. Outside of a late pick 6 to Marcus Peters, Winston was terrific against the Rams-throwing for 385 YDS and 4 TD in an impressive road win for the Bucs. Ol' Crab Legs will likely come back to earth in Week 5 when he goes against a Saints defense that has been sensational in non-garbage time situations over the past 2 weeks.
Honorable Mentions: Lamar Jackson (Ravens), Aaron Rodgers (Packers), Jared Goff (Rams)
LVP: Dak Prescott (Cowboys)
For the 1st time under new OC Kellen Moore, Prescott appeared mortal. The Saints took away the deep passing lanes and forced Prescott to revert to the checkdown-heavy attack that had defined this offense under former offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, which generated predictably lackluster results (223 YDS/0 TD/1 INT). Prescott could make it back-to-back duds this week when he goes up against a tough Packers secondary that's held all 4 quarterbacks they've played so far to 230 YDS or less.

Running Back
MVP: Nick Chubb (Browns)
The Browns offense finally turned a corner against the Ravens this week and Chubb deserves a lot of the credit for their long-awaited breakthrough. Chubb's monster performance (183 scrimmage YDS, 3 rushing TDS on 23 touches) made this group much more balanced and allowed 2nd year quarterback Baker Mayfield to play with a level of ease that he hadn't displayed in the prior 3 games. If Chubb can keep this level of play up, he'll ascend to the weekly RB1 ranks very quickly.
Honorable Mentions: Jordan Howard (Eagles), Leonard Fournette (Jaguars), Austin Ekeler (Chargers)
LVP: Marlon Mack (Colts)
A combination of game script and merely average production on the carries he did receive (11 for 39 YDS) made Mack a non-factor during an unexpected blowout home loss against the Raiders. Mack will look to break the up-and-down cycle he's been stuck in all season this week against a Chiefs D that currently ranks 31st against the run.

Wide Receiver
MVP: Chris Godwin (Buccaneers)
The hip ailment that kept Godwin out of practice for most of last week clearly wasn't too serious. He ended up serving as the catalyst for the Bucs staggering offensive performance against a previously vaunted Rams defense, registering a mammoth 12 receptions for 172 YDS and 2 TD's. Godwin will look to keep rolling against a talented, but beatable Saints secondary on Sunday afternoon.

LVP: Odell Beckham Jr. (Browns)
On a day where the Browns offense came alive, OBJ was left out of the fun. Beckham Jr., who reeled in just 2 catches for 20 yards, was pretty much completely shutdown by the Ravens top corner Marlon Humphery while teammates Jarvis Landry (8 REC/167 YDS) and Ricky Seals-Jones (3 REC/82 YDS/1 TD) put together career-best performances. The chemistry with Baker Mayfield hasn't really been there so far, but OBJ remains too dynamic to not be considered a top 5-10 fantasy WR moving forward.

Tight End
MVP: Austin Hooper (Falcons)
Hooper easily led the way in receiving (9 REC/130 YDS) on a mostly miserable afternoon for the reeling Falcons against the Titans. A Texans D that has done a terrific job slowing down TE's thus far (2nd least fantasy points allowed) awaits Hooper next.

LVP: Greg Olsen (Panthers)
Olsen fell back to earth in a major way against the Texans after back-to-back dominant performances. The veteran tight end mustered just 2 catches for 5 YDS on a day where Kyle Allen was in sync with no one outside of Christian McCaffery. He'll remain a TE1 option for a Week 5 showdown with the potentially Jalen Ramsey-less Jaguars.

Defense/Special Teams
MVP: Patriots
After a week away, the Patriots have returned to their MVP throne in Week 4. Comically sloppy QB play, a key blocked punt/return TD and just good old fashioned aggressiveness helped the Pats D put together another sensational showing (5 sacks/4 INT) that powered them to a 16-10 victory in a tight defensive struggle against the Bills. While they've certainly benefited from kicking off the season playing 4 of the league's most inept offenses, the Patriots defense is a tough, deep group with no serious weaknesses that has an excellent chance of being the top fantasy defense all season long.

LVP: Ravens
Something is wrong with the Ravens defense right now. A week after allowing 33 points to the Chiefs, they managed to be even worse against the Browns-giving up 40 points while doing next to nothing (1 sack, 1 INT) to offset the damage done by their inability to keep Freddie Kitchens' crew from scoring. They'll look to put this cold streak behind them when they square off against the ultraconservative Mason Rudolph-led Steelers in Week 5.

Week 4 Fantasy Football Winners and Losers (2018 Edition)
Quarterback
MVP: Jared Goff (Rams)
If there was any stragglers out there that still doubted Goff's ability to be a franchise quarterback in this league, his performance against the Vikings last Thursday should be enough to shut them up for good. He absolutely lit up the Vikings suddenly horrendous defense for a career-high 465 YDS and 5 TD's in another impressive win for the undefeated Rams. As long as this offense remains dynamic and explosive, Goff has a real shot to be a top 3-5 fantasy QB this season.
Honorable Mentions: Andrew Luck (Colts), Deshaun Watson (Texans), Kirk Cousins (Vikings)
LVP: Drew Brees (Saints)
The Saints signalcaller was due for a so-so performance after starting off 2018 with a trio of masterful outings. While Brees didn't make a lot of mistakes in this relatively easy victory over the Giants, solid secondary play and an outstanding ground performance from Alvin Kamara limited him to a 217 YD/0 TD afternoon. Brees will look to get back on track against an underrated Redskins pass defense next Monday night.

Running Back
MVP: Alvin Kamara (Saints)
I said to one of my friends earlier in the week that despite his overall effectiveness, Kamara hasn't been overly productive running the ball this year. His Week 4 performance made me look like the trash-spewing clown that I often am when talking about sports. Kamara eviscerated the Giants usually respectable rush D for 134 YDS and 3 TD's on 19 carries. He also unsurprisingly added 5 receptions for 47 YDS to further pad his 4th straight monster fantasy performance. Kamara has been absolutely unstoppable this season and I feel really silly for doubting his ability to maintain the absurd level of production he displayed as a rookie this year.
Honorable Mentions: Ezekiel Elliott (Cowboys), Melvin Gordon (Chargers), Kareem Hunt (Chiefs)

Everybody seemed to be eating on the Bears offense in Sunday's blowout victory over the Buccaneers. In fact, starting running back Jordan Howard was the only notable player to be left out of the feast. The 3rd-year back only mustered 25 YDS on 11 carries and ended up getting outtouched by backup Tarik Cohen-who led the team in both receiving (121 YDS) and rushing (53 YDS) on the day. Despite Cohen's big day, Howard should remain the Bears top back when they square off against the Dolphins in Week 6.
Dishonorable Mentions: Kenyan Drake (Dolphins), Dalvin Cook (Vikings), Isaiah Crowell (Jets)
Wide Receiver
MVP: Cooper Kupp (Rams)
All 3 of the Rams starting wideouts got 100+ YDS and reached the endzone against the Vikings, but Cooper Kupp ended up being the top dog on a night where the baseline for the receiver group was nothing less than exceptional. The 2nd-year slot wideout secured 9 receptions for 162 YDS and 2 TD's against a Vikings secondary that looked like they had indulged in some Actavis before hitting the field last Thursday night. Kupp is proving to be one of the biggest steals in fantasy so far this year and there's no reason to believe his target share or overall production is going to fall off anytime soon.

LVP: Larry Fitzgerald (Cardinals)
To be fair, Fitz has been hampered by a hamstring injury and horrendous QB play in the early portion of 2018, but his 3 REC/28 YD performance against the Seahawks on Sunday is still another disheartening letdown for a player that has been the epitome of consistency at the receiver position for the last dozen seasons. As sad as it is to say, he should probably be riding your bench in the interim.

It's seriously time to consider moving on from the Vikings defense. While you could counter with the argument that the Rams high-powered offense has smoked every opponent they've faced in 2018 thus far, this group has played with no fire, purpose or even general competency since the season started. They obviously have the talent to bounce back at some point, but they're too sloppy, burnable and takeaway/sack-challenged to trust right now.

Week 4 Fantasy Football Winners and Losers
Quarterback
MVP: Cam Newton (Panthers)
Going up against the Patriots stunningly inept defense was apparently all Cam Newton needed to get back on track. The 2015 league MVP gave Matt Patricia's disorganized group fits all game long, picking up 360 total yards (316 passing, 44 rushing) and 4 TD's (3 passing, 1 rushing) in the Panthers huge upset victory at Gillette Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Newton will look to prove that this strong showing wasn't a fluke against a stingy Lions defense that has allowed the 8th fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.
Honorable Mentions: DeShaun Watson (Texans), Russell Wilson (Seahawks), Andy Dalton (Bengals)
Ladies and gentleman, the Le'Veon Bell that we all know and love appears to be back. The Steelers dual-threat monster out of the backfield finally shook off the tremendous amount of rust he'd shown in the first 3 weeks of the season with an inhuman beatdown (186 total yards and 2 rushing TD's on 39 touches) of the Ravens D on Sunday afternoon. This performance has vaulted Bell back into the high-end RB1 conversation and he should be a threat to eclipse 100+ yards from scrimmage every week moving forward.

Nelson has shown no signs of slowing down at age 32 and will be locked-in as a high-end WR2 until further notice.

For the 1st time this season, the Seahawks defense looked like themselves. This perennially elite defense flashed their trademark physicality and toughness against a hapless Jacoby Brissett-led Colts offense on Sunday night, registering 3 sacks and a pair of takeaways (an INT and fumble recovery) that resulted in scores in a season-saving 46-18 win for the reigning NFC West champions. Kris Richard's group will likely have their hands full when they travel to face the red-hot Rams offense in LA this Sunday.

Week 4 Fantasy Football Winners and Losers
Quarterback
MVP: Matt Ryan (Falcons)
With the possible exception of Browns running back Isaiah Crowell, there has not a bigger surprise fantasy standout this season than Matt Ryan. The Falcons signalcaller somehow managed to top his brilliant 396 YD/3 TD performance against the Raiders in Week 2 with a ridiculous 503 YD/4 TD performance against the reigning NFC Champion Panthers on Sunday. Ryan faces his toughest opponent to-date in Week 5 as the Falcons travel to Denver to take on the dominant Broncos defense, but despite the brutal matchup, there's no reason to believe his absurd early-season production level is going to suddenly come to a screeching halt.

Matthew Stafford has been one of the biggest steals in all of fantasy football so far in 2016, but none of that surprising early-season excellence was on display this week. Stafford was remarkably inefficient, mustering just 213 YDS, a successful 2 point-conversion and 0 TD's while throwing a pair of INT's against a Bears defense that's currently decimated by injury. Stafford has a good shot of putting up stinky numbers yet again in Week 5 as the Lions take on the stingy Eagles defense, who have allowed the fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season.

As skeptical as I am that's he going to be able sustain his current level of success for the entire season, there's no denying that DeMarco Murray has been excellent through the first 4 weeks of 2016. Murray once again looked like a true workhorse back against the Texans, picking up 119 total yards (95 rushing, 24 receiving) and 2 TD's on 27 touches. Murray has been the lone spark of life on the Titans offense this year and as of right now, he's easily the strongest RB1 option in fantasy football.

Charles Sims followed up an impressive outing in his first career start against the Rams in Week 3 with a bona fide stinker against the Broncos in Week 4. Just about nothing went right for the 3rd-year back out of West Virginia on Sunday as the Broncos prolific defense held him to just 35 yards (28 rushing, 7 receiving) on 17 touches and forced him to lose a costly fumble in the 2nd quarter that helped give the reigning Super Bowl Champions the momentum they needed to pummel the Buccaneers into oblivion. Sims' slump looks like it could be short-lived as he is going up against the suddenly vulnerable Panthers defense in Week 5.

A lot of speculation emerged around the status of Julio Jones-who has been dealing with ankle and calf ailments-following his underwhelming performance (1 REC/16 YDS) against the god awful Saints secondary last week. Jones promptly proved that speculation that he was being bogged down by injuries to be nothing but white noise with a complete and total evisceration of the Panthers defense in Week 4. Jones stomped on the souls of the Panthers defensive backs for 60 minutes, finishing with an absolutely ridiculous 300 YDS and a touchdown on 12 receptions. Jones is the type of rare, inhuman aerial weapon that you can feel comfortable locking into your starting lineup every week, regardless of matchup.

The combination of defenses honing in on him more than ever and slower-than-expected process of developing a rapport with new quarterback Brock Osweiler has led to a slow start for Hopkins, but I firmly believe that he'll able to get back on track within the next few weeks.

The importance of Reed's role in the Redskins offense was re-confirmed in their narrow win over the Browns in Week 4. On a day where the Redskins other receivers bizarrely couldn't get much of anything going (the other 6 players that caught passes from Kirk Cousins finished with a combined total of 110 yards) against the Browns well below-average secondary, Reed came to the rescue by reeling in 9 of his 10 targets for 73 YDS and 2 TD. Reed is starting to justify his early-round draft status with his play over the past few weeks and as long as he stays healthy, he should be at least a top-5 TE in 2016.

The Rams have re-affirmed their place among the elite fantasy defense options after their horrific Week 1 performance cast widespread doubt about their status for 2016. They appear to be line to put up another solid performance in Week 5 when they take on the up-and-down Bills.

The Chiefs followed up the most impressive defensive performance of 2016 so far with arguably one of the weakest. 2014 Week 4 Fantasy Football Winners and Losers
Quarterback
MVP: Eli Manning (Giants)
Eli Manning channeled his brother Peyton this week as he dismantled the Redskins defense with a preposterous 300-yard, five TD performance (four passing, one rushing). Manning is finally starting to get a hold of offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo's system and its paying dividends on the field. Manning hasn't looked this comfortable or been this productive under center since his nearly 5,000-yard season in 2011. Manning is still too inconsistent to trust as a weekly starter, but he's well worth a pickup as a QB2 right now.
Honorable Mentions: Andrew Luck (Colts), Eli Manning (Giants), Aaron Rodgers (Packers)
LVP: Nick Foles (Eagles)
For the first time in a long time, Nick Foles had a terrible game. Foles couldn't get a damn thing going on Sunday against the 49ers as he was under duress for most of the game and had practically no help from his receivers getting open downfield. Because of this, Foles ended Sunday with less than 200 yards passing and zero touchdowns. In Chip Kelly's offense, Foles is still as strong of a QB start as there is out there, so don't bench him due to this performance.

Jammal Charles owners can officially rejoice now because he has officially woken up from his offseason hibernation. After missing the last two weeks with injuries, Charles returned to the field for his first dominant performance of the season against the Patriots in primetime on Monday night. Charles was all over the field getting a combined total of 21 touches, 108 yards and three TD's (two receiving, one rushing). After the early season injury, Charles looks to be back to his dominant RB1 form.

Who would've thought LeSean McCoy would be the worst fantasy running back play two weeks in a row? McCoy once again stuffed as he managed just 17 yards on 10 carries against the 49ers stiff run D on Sunday afternoon. While McCoy hasn't looked as fluid in space or with his cuts than usual over the past couple of weeks, he can't absorb all of the blame for these poor performances. The Eagles line is currently riddled with injuries, so the rushing lanes just haven't been there in the last two games. McCoy has a strong chance to return to from against the weak Rams run D in Week 5.

As most people-myself included-expected, Steve Smith had a huge game in his first meeting against his former team-the Carolina Panthers. Smith just could not be stopped as he reeled in seven receptions for 139 yards and two TD's in the Ravens blowout victory on Sunday. Smith, 35, has once again proven to be an ageless wonder this season and if he keeps up at this rate, he'll a guaranteed top 10 fantasy WR at year's end.

LVP: Calvin Johnson (Lions)
Even robot overlords like Megatron can play poorly sometimes. Calvin Johnson was visibly hobbled by an ankle injury- which limited his snaps and production substantially-throughout the Lions Week 4 matchup with the Jets. Johnson should return to his typical superhuman form in a couple of weeks, but he's not worth starting as long as his ankle continues to bother him.
Dishonorable Mentions: Pierre Garcon (Redskins), DeSean Jackson (Redskins), Michael Crabtree (49ers)
Tight End
MVP: Larry Donnell (Giants)
If you've watched the Giants play at any point this year, you may have asked yourself "Who the hell is Larry Donnell? The third-year undrafted tight end has become a fixture in the Giants offense overnight thanks to his steady hands and monstrous red zone presence. Donnell easily made his greatest impact of 2014 thus far in Week 4 as he found the endzone three times against the Redskins. Donnell has emerged as the breakout TE of this season and if he's somehow still available in your league, you need to pick him up immediately.

The typically productive Olsen was basically shut out as he picked up a mere two catches for 30 yards on the afternoon. Even with this setback, Olsen is on pace for a career year and he remains the number two option in this offense behind Kelvin Benjamin, so keeping starting him.

MVP: Miami Dolphins
After two straight disappointing performances, the Dolphins came back with a vengeance against the Raiders. The Dolphins forced four takeaways (three INT's and a fumble), picked up two sacks and got a defensive touchdown in Sunday's international showcase in London. The Dolphins are still a little sketchy to trust due to their tendency to allow a lot of points, but they have the capability to go off at any time thanks to their strong pass rush and takeaway ability.

Now is the time to hit the panic button for the Panthers defense. A week after getting crushed by the Steelers, the Panthers farted once again against allowing 38 points and not registered a single sack or takeaway in Sunday's contest against the Ravens. The pass-rush just isn't the same without Greg Hardy in the lineup and their second-ranked run defense from a year ago is suddenly near the bottom of the league. Things aren't going to get any easier for this struggling unit either as they face the Bears powerhouse offense in Week 5.

A week after getting crushed by the Steelers, the Panthers farted once again against allowing 38 points and not registered a single sack or takeaway in Sunday's contest against the Ravens. The pass-rush just isn't the same without Greg Hardy in the lineup and their second-ranked run defense from a year ago is suddenly near the bottom of the league. Things aren't going to get any easier for this struggling unit either as they face the Bears powerhouse offense in Week 5.
