Quick Movie Reviews: Cyrus and Going The Distance

Going The Distance: This a film that seriously surprised me. This a rare romantic comedy that is both very funny, real and heartfelt. Justin Long and Drew Barrymore have great chemistry and both of their characters are well developed and you really care about them, another rare feat for a romantic comedy. The supporting cast including Charlie Day and Jason Sudekis are excellent and create some of the biggest laughs in the whole film. A refreshingly enjoyable romantic comedy.

Cyrus: Cyrus was a film I was really excited about. I love Jonah Hill and John C.Reilly, as well as the director Mark Duplass, who is one of the stars and writers of The League, which is one of the funniest shows on TV. Cyrus is a pretty good comedy, but not as good as it could have been. Reilly and Hill are both amusing, it's just that that film is too "indie" for it's own good at times. The script isn't as sharp as I expected to be, there still a good amount of laughs and this is worth watching, I was just a bit disappointed with it.
